Fall Literacy Conference Presenters Needed

Plans are coming together for this year's literacy conference scheduled for Saturday, October 21st at Central Virginia Community College from 8:30-1:00 PM. We are welcoming this year's Reading Teacher of the Year, Heather Waild as our keynote speaker. She will be sharing Vocabulary Strategies for All Learners and a breakout session on Project Based Learning. We are thrilled she is willing to share her expertise with us once again.

Additionally, we have the following sessions planned, for our breakout sessions:
Make It Take It Dollar Store Reading Tools with Charles Richards
Making the Most of Your Virginia Readers Program with Andrea Crawford
The Power of Poetry: Using Poems for More than Fun with Carla Fedeler
The Magic of Motivation: Strategies to Help All Readers with Angie Kraje
A Multi-Sensory Approach to Word Study with Melissa Gaylor and Andrea Crawford
Top 10 Mentor Texts and How I use Them with Carla Fedeler
Making those Sightwords Stick with Angie Kraje

As you may have noticed, we are in need of a few more breakout session presenters in order to accommodate all who may be interested in attending. Each presenter is given 15 recertification points. If you are willing to share your area of expertise, please express interest TODAY. We'd like to get our registration started by Monday, September 24th. Please click the image below to PRESENT.
This year, we will be charging a small fee for the conference in order to cover our expenses. It will be $30 for nonmembers and $15 for members. Come back starting Monday to reserve your spot for the conference.

Sincerely,
The PARC Board
